The Portland Fire Fighters Association represents the Professional Fire Fighters of the City of Portland, the Bureau of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services, and the Portland International Airport.
The Portland Fire Fighters Association Local 43 is a charter member of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
Our Charter was granted on February 28, 1918. The association currently represents 696 Professional Fire Fighters.

The mission of Local 43 is to Establish and protect a livable standard of wages, benefits, and safety for fire fighters and the community. To provide a powerful and collective voice for workers that is inclusive, democratic, and enhances unity among workers.

Next Generation Portland Fire Fighters Cell Phone Plan.

The Portland Fire Fighters’ Association has partnered with Consumer Cellular for our new plan. Consumer Cellular is a local company that buys minutes from Cingular and resells them. Consumer Cellular offers fantastic features and plans. No long-term contracts, no roaming, no long distance charges, and family shared use. Family shared use is available on any of its plans for only $10 per month per additional line. There are many plans to choose from and if you choose to stay on the pay as you go plan the cost is only $10 per month (plus taxes) and $0.25 per minute. The old plan was $4.99 per month plus tax and an additional $1 for the Association’s administrative fee. The new plan doesn’t have the Association’s administrative fee as an additional charge. Consumer Cellular welcomes new lines of service. And…if your old phone needs to be replaced, Consumer Cellular has many different styles to choose from--unlike Cingular, which tried to get you to upgrade your service when your equipment was due for replacement.
